Model Worker – Razali Bujang<\/p>

(Nominated by the Advanced Manufacturing Employees\u2019 Union)<\/em><\/p>

Razali Bujang has been with NMB Singapore since 1996 and joined as a union member in the same period.\u00a0 He is now a Specialist Technician attached to the Plant Maintenance Department.<\/span><\/p>

Together with other active members, Razali had devoted much time in union activities ever since he became the union official of Advanced Manufacturing Employees\u2019 Union (AMEU: previously known as Metal Industries Workers\u2019 Union) since 2002.<\/p>

And how does a young man get involved in something like that and for so long?\u00a0 One could not help enquiring.<\/p>

\u201cCome to think of it, I only knew about trade union when I became a member in 1996.\u00a0 I do not have much knowledge then. My interest in unionism grows and I feel a strong sense of responsibility towards the union, having been so actively involved over the last 21 years\u201d, he shared.<\/p>

Indeed, he promotes reskilling and upskilling to his colleagues and encourages them to take on training courses to improve their employability.\u00a0 He has also taken the Certificate in Employment Relations to better serve his members.<\/p>

Razali is known for his ability and willingness to mix with all levels of people in the Company.\u00a0 Many see him as an understanding and approachable guy, whom they can confide in and consult over their problems.\u00a0 He has initiated meetings with management to improve communication and working relationships and is committed to caring for his fellow workers and helping them meet the challenges of today\u2019s digital world.<\/p>
