At NMB Singapore Limited, we celebrate the outstanding achievements of our team members who go above and beyond in their commitment to professional and personal growth. One such individual is Devon Khoo, Senior Engineer and a long-standing advocate for employee welfare and lifelong learning. On 30 November 2024, Devon was honored with the Advanced Manufacturing Employees’ Union (AMEU) Study Award for successfully completing his part-time Diploma in Engineering (Digital Manufacturing) at Temasek Polytechnic this year.

Devon’s journey with the union spans over 28 years, starting as a member of UWEEI before joining NMB/AMEU in 2001. He has been a pillar of support for his colleagues, serving as Union Secretary of the Chai Chee Branch of AMEU, where he plays an active role in addressing employee concerns and fostering a collaborative work environment.

A strong advocate for upskilling and reskilling, Devon has encouraged many colleagues to pursue training opportunities, empowering them to stay competitive in the evolving digital landscape. Leading by example, he has not only earned his Diploma in Engineering but also a Certificate in Employment Relations, equipping himself with the tools to better serve his fellow union members.

Known for his approachable demeanor and problem-solving skills, Devon has been instrumental in strengthening communication between employees and management. His proactive approach in initiating discussions with management underscores his dedication to improving workplace relations and ensuring a supportive environment for all.

Despite his busy schedule, Devon finds immense fulfillment in his union work and remains passionate about contributing to his colleagues’ well-being and professional growth.
